This year, Summer in the City will truly be out of this world. Melbourne Central have collaborated with Craig and Karl to create an immersive inflatable installation in the iconic MC Cone

What is Cosmos?

"Cosmos" is a large-scale installation that creates a playful atmosphere at Melbourne Central, boldly and fully capturing the spirit of the festive season. Suspended mid-air, the installation features colourful inflatables that evoke a cosmic landscape, creating an immersive environment that draws viewers in from every angle.

Some of the inflatables take the form of friendly characters, bringing an element of joy and personality to the installation. The varying facial expressions invite viewers to engage further with the piece, making the experience feel interactive and personal.

The bright colours and graphic forms in "Cosmos" transport visitors to a fantastical world, creating a sense of optimism that transforms Melbourne Central into a colourful dreamscape.
 

Who are Craig & Karl?

Craig & Karl are a duo working across design, illustration, art and installation. They collaborate daily from their respective bases in New York and London, creating bold, playful, multi-disciplinary work rooted in an evolving exploration of colour, pattern, shape and texture.

Their clients include the likes of Apple, Google, Prada, Nike, Tate Modern, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, Vogue and now Melbourne Central. They have exhibited in institutions around the world, but selfishly we'd say nothing compares to the Melbourne Central Cone!
